![]() You don't need to aim for a console release to build a shitty, broken game. But if you use it "the right way to do things", then I absolutely expect them to release games with less bugs.įrankly, I'm sick of hearing PC gamers whine about consoles like they're some kind of bogeyman. If you use as "predict", then yes, based on last releases, they are likely to release game with bugs. There are different meaning of the word "expect". If you expected something different from them, you're fooling yourself. What people are saying is that EGOSOFT has a record of releasing broken products. ![]() I appreciate people's frustrations about its release state, but I do trust egosoft to listen to its fan base and over time, x rebirth will truly be a rebirth of the franchise just as x3tc was to the original disappointing reunion release. But I am having a hell of a lot of fun, and I can see the game that it will be. Even to hire marines and be able to capture capital ships! Eventually egosoft took all of these fixes, patches, and the best mods, added more plot elements and released them all as x3tc, the greatest space sim of the last decade.Īm I frustrated by the bugs in x rebirth? Of course I am, is it everything I was hoping for? Not quite. Over time, egosoft fixed the bugs, the modding community added the ability to automine, to autotrade, to command wings of ships at a time. Sure space was mind bogglingly beautiful, but without being able to land or interact, it just felt lonely. ![]() And docking? How could you feel a part of the universe when not only can you not leave your ship, but you can't even see your ship. You could not see any available information about stations or get missions without docking. Trading was horribly laborious, you couldn't automate universe trading, you couldn't mine other than manually, which was so slow. On a new high end system, you pretty much couldn't fly through any sector with asteroids at release, the plot was riddled with game breaking bugs. When x3 reunion came out I was so excited, and I wanted to enjoy the game, but it was broken. I've been a huge fan of the genre since playing privateer back in the day.
